Electricity consumption during Tet holiday may increase by nearly 1 million kWh/day

According to the forecast of Hai Duong Electricity One Member Co., Ltd., the electricity consumption output during Tet in the province could reach 19.3 million kWh, an increase of nearly 1 million kWh compared to the Giap Thin Tet.

The 2025 Lunar New Year has a low temperature, so the demand for electrical appliances such as water heaters, heating lamps, etc. will increase. Moreover, at the end of the year, people celebrate the New Year using high-capacity cooking appliances, many places use lighting, decorations, organize cultural activities, etc., which will also increase the capacity and electricity consumption compared to normal days, especially during peak hours.

During Tet, people decorate their homes with lots of lights both indoors and outdoors, which also causes electricity consumption to increase.

To ensure stable and safe power supply, Hai Duong Electricity recommends that customers use electricity sparingly and limit the use of many high-capacity electrical devices at the same time, especially during peak hours.

On the other hand, customers need to raise awareness of electricity usage, turn off electrical equipment when not in use, avoid waste causing local overload of the power grid system, join hands to ensure safety of power grid corridors...
