Crater Of Diamonds State Park in Murfreesboro, Arkansas (USA) is the only place in the world where people are allowed to legally dig for diamonds. Park representatives said that luck smiled on Mr. Julien Navas in early January 2024.

Accordingly, in a search area of more than 15 hectares, a French tourist was extremely lucky to find a brown diamond.

Mr. Navas's main purpose in coming to the US was to watch a rocket launch at Cape Canaveral in Florida. After that, he traveled with a friend to New Orleans, Louisiana.

On the way, he heard about the famous diamond park in Arkansas state so he felt interested and decided to go there to try his luck.

It is understood that a few days before Navas arrived, there was heavy rain in the park. After purchasing a ticket and renting a basic set of diamond digging tools, he began digging.

“I arrived at the park around 9am and started digging. It was hard work, so in the afternoon I switched to looking for things that stood out on the ground,” said Mr Navas.

A few hours later, he picked up a strange object and brought it to the park's research center for examination. The results showed that it was a round, marble-shaped brown diamond weighing 7.46 carats.

The Carine Diamond is the fifth diamond found at the park this year and the largest since 2020. In total, more than 75,000 diamonds have been found here since 1972. Visitors buy a $10 ticket and get to keep the diamond they find.
