Tourists to Khanh Hoa in the summer increased by 60% compared to before the epidemic

Tourists to Khanh Hoa during the peak summer tourist season in June and July increased by 60% compared to the same period in 2019, with revenue reaching more than 11,000 billion VND.

According to the report of the provincial Department of Tourism, the number of visitors staying in June and July this year reached more than 2.4 million, an increase of 60% over the same period in 2019 (1.5 million visitors), of which more than 485,000 were international visitors, the rest were domestic visitors. In total, in the 7 months, the locality reached over 15.6 million visitors (more than 4 million visitors staying), with revenue reaching more than 19,000 billion VND.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, said that Khanh Hoa tourism industry has "reached the finish line" early, when the target in 2023 is to welcome about 4 million overnight guests, including about 2.5 million domestic visitors and 1.5 million international visitors, with tourism revenue reaching 21,000 billion VND.

According to Ms. Thanh, to prepare to welcome guests in the summer of 2023, Khanh Hoa tourism industry is actively implementing many tourism promotion activities, advising on organizing large-scale events to attract tourists, such as Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2023 with the highlight being the largest drone light show in Southeast Asia or the 8Wonder music festival with the participation of world stars.

"Khanh Hoa always creates the best conditions for units to organize events to create brands to attract tourists. Currently, the locality continues to call on businesses to organize cultural and entertainment activities of national and international significance to enhance tourism in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa," said Ms. Thanh.

The head of the provincial tourism industry said that in the next two months, Khanh Hoa province will have the VnExpress Marathon Marvelous Nha Trang 2023 and the Golden Kite Awards Ceremony will take place in September. In addition, a number of international programs are awaiting approval from competent authorities.

"With international and national events, Khanh Hoa tourism industry expects to make a breakthrough in the coming time," said Ms. Thanh.

According to statistics from Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, room occupancy in May was only about 41%, but in June and July it reached over 83% and 87% respectively. In particular, 4-5 star hotels had room occupancy of over 92%.
