Close relationship, cooperation and sharing
Under the leadership of the Party, the Vietnamese revolutionary press has always accompanied enterprises in the journey of integration and economic development of the country. However, among the myriad of goals, the press and enterprises share the greatest goal, which is also the most noble task and mission: "serving the People and the country". To fulfill that mission, in recent times, the press and domestic enterprises have coordinated and accompanied each other for sustainable development.
In fact, no economic organization or enterprise does not need information transmitted by the press. The press not only provides information on science, technology, management, law, market, investment... at home and abroad, but is also a channel to spread the potential, promote products and services of enterprises to the public, creating opportunities to attract investment and resources to promote economic development.
In addition, the press is also a forum for the business community, reflecting the regime, policies, business environment, connecting, communicating, and exchanging experiences; arousing social trust in business people; encouraging the spirit of social responsibility of businesses and especially being a bridge between businesses and the Government.
And vice versa, enterprises are a rich and diverse source of topics in the professional activities of the press to serve the information needs of society. In particular, enterprises are also an important and indispensable source of financial support for the social activities of press agencies. Political and social events organized by the press, especially social movements, for the purpose of supporting the community, joining hands to build new rural areas, supporting people affected by natural disasters, etc. all have the active support and companionship of enterprises.
General Director of Viet An Hoa Real Estate Investment Joint Stock Company Tran Khanh Quang shared that he highly values the role of the press in the development of enterprises and considers this a major relationship in the past and future development of Viet An Hoa.
“After the Covid-19 pandemic, the real estate market entered an unprecedented difficult period, but fortunately, thanks to the press, the difficulties as well as the concerns and worries of businesses were quickly conveyed to management agencies and thus were resolved more quickly. From the perspective of businesses, I am very grateful for the contributions of all journalists and press agencies,” said Mr. Tran Khanh Quang.
Sharing the same view, Chairman of the Association of High-Quality Vietnamese Goods Enterprises Vu Kim Hanh also affirmed that in any period, the press always plays an important role in encouraging and motivating businesses and entrepreneurs to promote the spirit of creativity and innovation. Through the press, consumers know more about the brand of the business and its products.
“Notably, in recent times, the press has been very active in spreading the message of digital transformation and green transformation to the domestic business community, creating a huge significance in orienting business awareness to implement a sustainable development model. From there, creating valuable products for the national interest and the health of Vietnamese consumers. No one can do this task better than the press,” Ms. Vu Kim Hanh emphasized.
According to businessmen and enterprises, the relationship between the press and enterprises is a natural, two-way relationship, because the press needs enterprises and enterprises also always need the press to accompany, bond, cooperate and share on the development journey.
Eliminate the "dark side", towards sustainable companionship
Cherishing the development partnership, for many years now, the press and businesses have worked together to build a close relationship. However, besides the bright colors, there are many invisible "dark areas" that affect this relationship.
In the 4.0 era, social networks are like a double-edged sword that negatively impacts both the press and businesses. Typically, "junk" news, rumors, and false news "exploding" from social networks have been causing damage to businesses, leading to some businesses being in crisis, "withdrawing", and even being hesitant and avoiding exchanging and providing information with the press.
In addition, another worrying issue is the situation of some subjects impersonating reporters and journalists to "torture" businesses, causing businesses to lose confidence in the press. Or the situation of "looking for worms in the leaves", looking into small loopholes of businesses to put pressure for personal gain by some reporters and journalists is also a recent painful story. However, sometimes the problem also originates from the motives of the businesses themselves. Because some businesses use the press to target the weaknesses of competitors...
Discussing frankly about the hidden corners in the relationship between the press and businesses, lawyer Le Ngo Trung (Ho Chi Minh City Bar Association) commented that making “clean” journalism is the biggest concern in the management of newspaper offices today. When the press is given “power”, it is also a challenge in using this power. Establishing a relationship between the press and businesses requires meticulousness, diligence and sophistication from both sides.
From the business perspective, Master Nguyen Minh Quan - Permanent Vice President of C&D Entrepreneurs Club also stated that the press is the best communication channel for businesses.
“In the integration period, businesses are forced to go out to sea, so more than ever, Vietnamese businesses need the support of the domestic press to assert themselves. And of course, in the fierce competition in the market, the dynamism, creativity, and thinking of entrepreneurs and businesses will be a rich and lively source of topics for the press,” Master Nguyen Minh Quan analyzed.
It can be affirmed that the “dark spots” are actually only a few, just “a rotten apple spoiling the barrel”. Once the press and businesses unite to further strengthen and enhance mutual trust and that trust is built on honesty, no barrier can shake the connection. From there, it creates a solid foundation for today’s business and press teams to grow stronger, mature, strive to commit, bravely venture out, and carry out the mission of serving the country and the people…
The foundation for a sustainable relationship between the press and businesses is ethics. Journalistic ethics is to report objectively and provide constructive criticism. Meanwhile, business ethics is to conduct business towards its own development goals, accompanying the development of the country. When the press and businesses implement each other's ethics, they are accompanying each other on the journey of serving the country and the people.
