After spending the whole morning resting and recovering, this afternoon (November 18), the Vietnamese team returned to the training ground to prepare for the match against the Iraqi team in the next round of the 2nd qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup. The team practiced behind closed doors at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center (Hanoi).
Coach Philippe Troussier divided the team into two groups. The starting players in the match against the Philippines only did light exercise, mainly to relax their muscles and maintain their ball feeling. The remaining players increased their exercise volume to release inertia, while also practicing more technical and tactical content. The good news is that despite having to play on artificial turf in the opening match against the host Philippines, the team was able to maintain 100% of its strength.
Van Toan (blue shirt, middle) can practice normally.
Van Toan only suffered soft tissue pain, which will not affect his training and competition. This striker is ready to play in the match against Iraq if he continues to be selected in the national team's lineup. The match between the Vietnamese team and the Iraqi team will take place at 7 p.m. at My Dinh Stadium.
To continue serving fans coming to the stadium to cheer on the team in the confrontation with a strong opponent from West Asia, the Organizing Committee has started selling tickets directly at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation, with 4 denominations including: 200,000 VND/ticket; 300,000 VND/ticket; 450,000 VND/ticket and 600,000 VND/ticket.
