China team received 3 red cards in loss to Hong Kong

In preparation for the 2023 Asian Cup, China and Hong Kong played a closed-door friendly match in the UAE. The match was not broadcast live, but reporters were allowed to cover it.

China opened the scoring in the 9th minute, Tan Long rushed in to score after Wu Lei's shot was blocked by the Hong Kong goalkeeper. Poon Pui Hin equalized 1-1 for Hong Kong in the 54th minute and 2 minutes later, China midfielder Wang Shangyuan received a red card.

In the 59th minute, Poon Pui Hin sealed a 2-1 victory for Hong Kong. The Chinese assistant coach received a red card in the 63rd minute and 10 minutes later, China's Wu Shaocong was sent off.

Playing with only 9 men, China could not find an equalizer and had to accept a 1-2 defeat. 3 days ago, the Chinese team lost 0-2 to Oman in a friendly match in the UAE.

According to coach Jankovic, the Chinese players are not in the best physical condition at the moment and the whole team will try to improve this problem before the 2023 Asian Cup kicks off in Qatar on January 12.

At the 2023 Asian Cup, China is in Group A with host Qatar, Tajikistan and Lebanon. Hong Kong is in Group C with three West Asian representatives: Iran, UAE and Palestine.
