On behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of Gia Lai province, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Ho Van Nien wished the officials and people of Champasak province good health, happiness and continued success in the new year; at the same time, expressed his good impression of Champasak province on its remarkable economic development, well-invested and built infrastructure, and convenient transportation.
Along with that, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Van Nien also informed about the geographical and socio-economic characteristics of Gia Lai province and the results of cooperation between Gia Lai province and Champasak. In particular, the two provinces signed a Memorandum of Understanding on investment cooperation for the period 2016-2021 and the period 2021-2025 in the fields of trade, human resource training support; education, tourism development and transportation.
The Gia Lai Provincial Party Secretary also congratulated Champasak province on successfully organizing the Investment Attraction Conference, which was attended by provincial leaders and many Gia Lai enterprises. On this basis, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Van Nien hoped that the two provinces would continue to cooperate more comprehensively and deeply to contribute to the benefits of the two localities; continue to foster the great relationship and special solidarity between the two brotherly peoples of Vietnam and Laos in general, and Gia Lai and Champasak provinces in particular, "forever green, forever sustainable".

On behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of Champasak province, Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Governor Vi Lay Vong But Da Kham expressed his sincere and deep gratitude for the special sentiments of the Gia Lai provincial delegation in the new year; thereby, contributing to strengthening the solidarity and friendship between Gia Lai and Champasak provinces.
Provincial Party Secretary and Governor Vi Lay Vong But Da Kham thanked Gia Lai province for its great attention and support in the past time; at the same time, he hoped that the two provinces would continue to effectively implement the contents of the Vietnam-Laos high-level agreement and the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the two provinces to contribute to creating momentum to promote Champasak province to develop more strongly and comprehensively.
In addition, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Champasak Province said that in the coming time, they will increase exchanges and learn from Gia Lai province's experiences to develop socio-economic and tourism; at the same time, they affirmed to continue creating all favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises, as well as those of Gia Lai province, to survey and learn about investment opportunities, exploit the potential and strengths of the locality, contributing positively to the socio-economic development of Champasak province.
On this occasion, on behalf of the delegation, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Council Ho Van Nien also presented souvenirs and presented each province with 20,000 USD (equivalent to 480 million VND) along with best wishes for the New Year.

On the same afternoon, before visiting and wishing a Happy New Year to Champasak province, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Van Nien visited and offered flowers and incense at the Laos-Vietnam Solidarity and Combat Alliance Monument; visited and presented gifts to officers and soldiers of Team K53 (Kon Tum Provincial Military Command) who are on a mission to search for and collect the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died during the war in Laos in Bak Song district (Champasak province).
