Northern Electricity shortens power supply time for customers and actively reduces power loss

In the first 9 months of 2024, the Northern Power Corporation provided stable and safe electricity to serve socio -economic development, meeting the living needs of people in 27 northern provinces and cities.

The Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) has ensured power supply to implement the standby plan to serve the high school graduation exam and university and vocational education entrance exam in 2024 and holidays, Tet as well as political and social activities of localities.

In September, storm No. 3 (Yagi) caused severe damage to the power grid in the Northern region, especially in the provinces and cities of Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Bac Giang, Lao Cai, Yen Bai... Immediately after the storm passed, the Corporation mobilized all resources, sent shock troops from less affected Power Companies, auxiliary units and contractors, with human resource support from the Central Power Corporation, Hanoi Power Corporation with over 3,000 people, to the most affected areas to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 to soon restore power to customers.

Northern Electricity applies technology to repair the power grid without power outages to meet people's electricity needs.

Shorten power supply time for customers

The total commercial electricity output of the Corporation in September 2024 reached 8.127 billion kWh, the accumulated output in the first 9 months of 2024 reached 74.649 billion kWh, an increase of 10.3% over the same period in 2023, reaching 78.63% of the annual plan assigned by EVN. Of which, the construction industry sector accounted for 61.82%, an increase of 13.13% over the same period, the consumer management sector accounted for 30.49%, an increase of 8.71% over the same period, and the commercial sector accounted for 3.23%, an increase of 14.62%.

Cumulative power loss in the first 9 months of 2024 reached 3.79%, down 0.61% over the same period in 2023 and 0.31% lower than the plan assigned by Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN).

Regarding the electricity access target, in September 2024, the entire Corporation received and resolved electricity supply for 168 medium-voltage customers, the average time to resolve electricity industry procedures was 3.3 days, a decrease of 0.23 days compared to the same period in 2023. In the first 9 months of 2024, the entire Corporation received and resolved electricity supply for 1,812 medium-voltage customers, the average time to resolve electricity industry procedures was 3.22 days, a decrease of 0.33 days compared to the same period in 2023; a decrease of 3.78 days compared to EVN's regulations.

The rate of customers paying electricity bills without using cash of the Corporation as of the end of September 2024 reached 90.23%, 3.1% higher than the target assigned by EVN in 2024. The cumulative rate of providing level 4 electricity services by the end of September 2024 reached 100%. In the first 9 months of 2024, the Corporation started 28 projects and energized 41 110kV projects.

Continue to reduce power loss to the power grid in the area managed by the unit

The Northern Power Corporation has determined that the tasks for the last 3 months of 2024 are very heavy, and the Units need to be proactive and closely follow the Corporation's plan. Ensure safe operation and management of power lines, minimizing incidents in the remaining months of 2024.

To further improve the quality of customer service, from the Corporation to the Power Companies, Power; Northern Power Information Technology Company, Customer Care Center; Northern Power Service Company... ensure good implementation of EVN's Business Process, Regulations on customer care and satisfaction assessment in EVNNPC and other related regulations.

The last 3 months of the year are the final stage of construction investment work. In order to complete the number of 41 projects that have started construction and 35 projects that are still energized in the last 3 months of the year, the Project Management Boards must make every effort to coordinate with contractors to focus maximum resources on projects with a plan to start construction and energize as committed. Along with that is the cooperation of Power Companies in the work of requesting approval of investment policies, site clearance, power outages for energization... The Corporation strives to ensure that the projects that have started construction and energized in the area are on schedule, contributing to improving the reliability of power supply as well as reducing power loss for the power grid in the area under its management.
