Speaking at the tree planting ceremony, Provincial Party Secretary Tran Quoc Cuong emphasized: “The Ban flower is a typical flower of Dien Bien in particular and the Northwest in general. The blooming season of Ban flowers is also an occasion for ethnic minorities in Dien Bien to hold festivals such as: Xen Ban, Xen Muong, Kin Pang Then. Dien Bien province has restored and organized the Ban Flower Festival at the provincial level every March. The Ban flowers planted this time are the best seedlings brought from Dien Bien. This is the affection of the Party Committee, government and people of Dien Bien province for the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City…”.

After the launching ceremony, the leaders of the two localities and delegates planted 120 Bauhinia trees. Of which, 70 Bauhinia trees symbolize the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024) and 50 Bauhinia trees symbolize the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). The Bauhinia trees planted in Ho Chi Minh City are a symbol of the solidarity between the two localities and a practical action in response to the Government's project to plant 1 billion trees in the period 2021 - 2025.

Previously, Provincial Party Secretary Tran Quoc Cuong and the delegation offered incense at the Hung Kings Memorial Temple and the Temple of Lord Le Thanh Hau Nguyen Huu Canh located in the National Historical and Cultural Park, Long Binh Ward, Thu Duc City (Ho Chi Minh City).
