In his welcoming speech at the workshop, Vladimir Mazyrin, Director of the ASEAN Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, emphasized that during his more than 10 years in Europe, President Ho Chi Minh had a fairly complete picture of the communist movement, thereby creating for himself the values of fighting against imperialism, which is especially important for Vietnam's sovereignty. The knowledge that President Ho Chi Minh acquired contributed to the success of the August Revolution and the building of an independent democratic Vietnam.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Second Secretary of the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia, said that 100 years ago, Vietnam was not well known in the world. At that time, the young man Nguyen Ai Quoc, on his difficult revolutionary path, first set foot in Peterograd, now St. Petersburg. Then, under the leadership of President Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnamese people carried out the August Revolution and established the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. Since then, more than 70 years have passed, and Vietnam - the former Soviet Union and Vietnam - Russia today have always stood side by side and have achieved many achievements in developing the good traditional relationship as well as the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

Experts from the Ho Chi Minh Relic Site in the Presidential Palace reviewed his imprints in the development of relations between Vietnam and the former Soviet Union and Vietnam and Russia today, and said that the image of President Ho Chi Minh has become a source of inspiration for Russian literature and poetry.

During the discussions, Russian and Vietnamese scholars agreed that President Ho Chi Minh creatively applied Marxism-Leninism to successfully lead the Vietnamese national liberation revolution as well as contribute to the development of relations between the two countries.
