Come to Ho Chi Minh City to color the biggest 'doodle' in Vietnam

In December, Ho Chi Minh City will organize a Tourism Week with a series of activities such as the experience of coloring the largest "Doodle art" in Vietnam, green tours or marathons.

The third Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week is scheduled to take place from December 4-10. Ms. Nguyen Cam Tu, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Promotion Center, said that the message of this year's tourism week is "green on every journey", not only to attract domestic and foreign visitors, but also to develop sustainable tourism, so that Ho Chi Minh City becomes a green tourist destination.

The new feature of this year's event is the exploration of Ho Chi Minh City through Doodle art. Doodle art is a form of free artistic creation based on imagination and subconsciousness, not following a pre-existing pattern or direction.

Visitors can visit the exhibition of Doodle works associated with Vietnamese culture. The free art experience area has activities such as teaching Doodle drawing, coloring art books, drawing Doodles on conical hats and canvas bags, and printing Doodle stamps. The highlight of this activity is the coloring area of ​​the largest Doodle painting in Vietnam, created by 22 pieces of 22 paintings about localities in Ho Chi Minh City.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, said that this is the first time the tourism week event has received the support and cooperation of 21 districts and Thu Duc City. During the week of the event, localities have information spaces and check-in corners for visitors.

"During the tourism week, each district will introduce a typical destination product. Each day the city will announce at least one new tourism product, including products that are being launched for the first time such as Nha Be night tourism and waterway tourism, promising to attract domestic and foreign visitors," Ms. Hoa emphasized.

The final days of the tourism week are the international marathon. Tour programs, packages, services and promotional products of businesses for tourists will also be announced.

Travel agencies will also develop new tours and offer incentives for green tourism tours. Accommodation establishments are encouraged to use environmentally friendly materials. Restaurants and food establishments will offer incentives for customers to take away with their own containers. Supermarkets and shopping malls in Ho Chi Minh City will promote the "Green Consumption" program with green products and incentives for customers to use their own bags.

In the first 10 months of 2023, Ho Chi Minh City welcomed more than 30.51 million tourists, an increase of 22.6% over the same period, international visitors were estimated at 4.12 million, reaching 82% of the target of 5 million, an increase of more than 55% over last year. In 10 months, the city's total tourism revenue is estimated at VND 140,048 billion, an increase of 32.6% over the same period in 2022 and an increase of 16.7% compared to the 2023 plan.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa said that by the end of 2023, total tourism revenue is expected to increase to more than 170,000 billion VND, and the city's tourism industry can achieve the set plans.
