Cosmetics containing ingredients not listed in the quality declaration
Hanoi Department of Health has just issued document 3397/SYT-NVD on July 31, sent to medical departments; business establishments, cosmetics users in the city to announce the suspension of circulation, recall of a batch of whitening cream - sunscreen (HASUMI brand), packaged in a box of 1 bottle of 10g (batch number: HSM-01/02; Manufacturing date: 1.2.2023; announcement number: 001250/22/CBMP-HCM), produced by Ngoc Y Chau Cosmetics Company Limited (Ward 27, Binh Hung Hoa A Ward, Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City).
The product was recalled because the test sample did not meet quality standards, containing the preservatives Methyl paraben and Propyl paraben that were not included in the product formula and had been granted a cosmetic product declaration receipt number.
The Hanoi Department of Health requests that cosmetic businesses and users in the city review and immediately stop selling and using the above batch of whitening and sunscreen cream (HASUMI brand); requests that health departments of districts, towns and cities inspect and supervise the recall implementation of the establishments.
Previously, on July 21, 2023, the Department of Drug Administration (Ministry of Health) issued Official Dispatch 7930 announcing the suspension of circulation and nationwide recall of a batch of whitening - sunscreen cream (HASUMI brand) box of 1 bottle of 10g that did not meet the above quality standards.
The Drug Administration of Vietnam requires Ngoc Y Chau Cosmetics Company Limited to send a product recall report to the Department before August 30, 2023; requests the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health to inspect Ngoc Y Chau Cosmetics Company Limited in its compliance with the provisions of law on cosmetics management in cosmetics production and trading activities.
Cosmetics do not meet microbial limits
Most recently, the Drug Administration Department also issued Official Dispatch No. 8364 dated July 31 announcing the suspension of circulation and nationwide recall of a batch of grapefruit essential oil, box of 1 bottle of 80 ml (on the label is the batch number: 03; Production date: 13.9.2022; Production date: 13.9.2024; CBMP number 24/17/CBMP-TG is a product of Long Thuan Private Enterprise, address My Thach Hamlet, Song Thuan Commune, Chau Thanh District, Tien Giang Province). The product was recalled due to testing not meeting the quality standards for the limit of microorganisms in cosmetics according to regulations.
The Drug Administration of Vietnam requests the health departments of provinces and cities to notify cosmetic businesses and users in the area to immediately stop trading and using and recall the violating product batches.
The Drug Administration of Vietnam requires Long Thuan Private Enterprise to send a recall report on the above batch of grapefruit essential oil products to the Drug Administration of Vietnam before September 15, 2023.
Propose that the Tien Giang Provincial Department of Health inspect Long Thuan Private Enterprise in compliance with legal regulations on cosmetics management in cosmetics production and trading activities; handle and punish violations according to current regulations and report the results to the Department of Drug Administration before September 30, 2023.
