According to the source, Mr. David Plouffe, former President Obama's campaign manager in 2008 and also a senior assistant when Mr. Obama was re-elected in 2012, has joined the ranks of senior advisors in the election campaign of current Vice President Harris.
Previously, Ms. Harris' campaign received the support of Ms. Stephanie Cutter, also a veteran media advisor and strategist on former President Obama's campaign team.
Former Obama "warriors" accompanying Ms. Harris in the race to the White House also include Mr. Mitch Stewart, who worked for both of former President Obama's election campaigns and will become a senior advisor in battleground states.
David Binder, who led Obama's public opinion research, will also expand his role in Harris' campaign.
All new hires will report to Jen O'Malley Dillon, the vice president's campaign manager, who was instrumental in the success of both Obama's and Joe Biden's 2020 presidential campaigns.
Previously, Vice President Harris won enough votes from Democratic delegates to become the party's representative to run for president, facing Republican candidate Donald Trump in the November election.
Harris, 59, was the only candidate in a five-day online vote of nearly 4,000 Democratic delegates, which replaced the in-person voting that usually takes place before the Democratic National Convention.
As the first woman of color of Asian descent to win a major party's nomination, Ms. Harris will officially be awarded the nomination at the Democratic convention taking place in Chicago from August 19-22.
The nomination win comes as Ms Harris prepares to hit the campaign trail next week with a tour of seven key states, alongside the yet-to-be-announced Democratic nominee for vice president.
The race for the White House is entering its final stages with fierce competition between the Republican and Democratic parties to seek votes for next November. Former US President Trump and current Vice President Harris have simultaneously launched new campaign ads aimed at attacking each other.
According to La Tribune magazine, Ms. Kamala Harris is bringing a “breath of fresh air” to American voters who are eager for a new, younger face to lead the country. However, Ms. Harris will have to maintain her current advantage in the coming days and must convince American voters that she can also represent this world's leading power.
The latest polls show Harris closing the gap with Donald Trump, with her support falling by only about 2 percentage points (44/46%). Some other polls even show Harris surpassing Trump.
