Ensuring downstream safety when Tuyen Quang Hydropower Reservoir opens all 8 bottom spillway gates

Implementing the direction of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in Official Dispatch No. 6644/CD-BNN-DD dated September 9, 2024 on opening the remaining 2 bottom spillways of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Reservoir; Document No. 6644-BNN-DD dated September 9, 2024 on ensuring downstream safety when operating Tuyen Quang Hydropower Reservoir, in which Tuyen Quang Reservoir opens the 7th bottom spillway at 2:00 p.m. and opens the 8th bottom spillway at 3:00 p.m. on September 9, 2024 (a total of 8 bottom spillways).

To proactively take response measures to minimize possible human and property damage downstream due to flood discharge from Tuyen Quang Lake, the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue (PCTT&TKCN) recommends:

The Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of Doan Hung, Phu Ninh districts, Viet Tri city; Phu Tho State-owned Irrigation Works Exploitation Company directs communes, wards, towns, and related organizations and individuals to strictly follow the requirements of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue in Official Dispatches No. 49/BCH-VPTT dated September 8, 2024; No. 50 BCH-VPTT dated September 9, 2024; No. 51 BCH-VPTT dated September 9, 2024 on ensuring downstream safety when Hoa Binh and Tuyen Quang hydropower reservoirs discharge floodwaters; No. 52 BCH-VPTT dated September 9, 2024 on ensuring downstream safety when Thac Ba hydropower reservoir discharge floodwaters; No. 53 BCH-VPTT, No. 54 BCH-VPTT dated September 9, 2024, No. 55 BCH-VPTT dated September 9, 2024 on ensuring downstream safety when Tuyen Quang Hydropower Reservoir continues to open floodgates.
