At the meeting, Vice Chairwoman of Da Nang City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi emphasized that Da Nang is implementing the Project to establish a Free Trade Zone, expected to be submitted to the Prime Minister for approval in the near future. This is a strategic step to create a foundation for economic and technological development, contributing to affirming the city's position on the international map.

In addition, the city is focusing on investing heavily in the field of innovation with a plan to build a 500 billion VND innovation space, expected to start construction this year. At the same time, Da Nang is studying to amend resolutions of the City People's Council to attract talent and promote investment in developing modern laboratories to serve high-tech research.

With the goal of providing high-quality human resources for the microchip and semiconductor industry, Da Nang has set a strategy to train at least 5,000 engineers by 2030, including 2,000 design engineers and 3,000 engineers and technicians in the fields of packaging and testing.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi affirmed that the city always welcomes and creates favorable conditions for agencies and organizations to carry out activities to connect and introduce studying in Japan, especially at leading public universities in Japan.

Thanking the city leaders for their warm welcome, Professor AOKI Toru expressed his desire for extensive cooperation in the research and application of microchip and semiconductor technology in Vietnam. He hoped that the cooperation between Shizuoka University and Da Nang would create many opportunities for high-tech development, contributing positively to the digital transformation and sustainable development of both countries.
