On November 2, Hanoi University of Science and Technology officially announced the plan for the Thinking Assessment (TSA) exam in 2025.

Accordingly, in 2025, the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (TSA) thinking assessment exam is expected to be held in 3 rounds on weekends, each round will have 3-4 test teams at 30 test locations.

In addition to previous exam locations, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will open a new testing site to support students in the Northwestern provinces (test site in Lao Cai province). Accordingly, the exam can meet the needs of about 75,000 exams.

Phase 1 will take place on January 18 and 19, registration opens June 1; phase 2 will take place on exam days 8 and 903, registration opens June 1; phase 3 will take place on April 26 and 27, registration opens June 1.

Previously, in 2024, the TSA exam took place in 6 rounds on weekends with 30 test locations each round in Hanoi and 11 provinces and cities including Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh , Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Da Nang ; serving nearly 50,000 exams with a total of 21,000 candidates .

The exam results have been used by more than 50 universities for university admissions for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Detailed Structure of the TSA Exam

According to Hanoi University of Science and Technology, to comply with the new general education program of the Ministry of Education and Training, Since 2023, the TSA exam content and format have been implemented as designed and will remain stable for many years to come.

The test consists of 3 parts: Mathematical thinking (60 minutes), reading comprehension (30 minutes) and scientific thinking/problem solving (60 minutes). These are 3 independent parts, the test questions will focus on assessing the thinking ability of the candidate in each part, not directly testing the knowledge of any subject.

The test will be conducted in the form of multiple choice tests on computers, and the test results will be valid for 2 years for university admission purposes.

Many modern testing technologies have been applied to the exam such as technology to build standardized thinking test questions, bridge theory in the exam, technology to grade the exam according to the multi-parameter IRT model, automatic check-in technology according to citizen identification cards integrated with the personal data management system on the National Population Database to identify candidates coming to take the exam to completely prevent proxy exams and cheating in exams...
