Da Nang rewards collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in science and technology activities and innovative startups

Authors and groups of authors received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City for their outstanding achievements in science and technology activities in 2022.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of Da Nang City People's Committee Ngo Thi Kim Yen sent her congratulations to the intellectuals, scientists, innovators and individuals working in the field of science and technology on the occasion of the Anniversary of Vietnam Science and Technology Day (May 18).

In recent years, science and technology (S&T) activities, innovative startups have had many positive changes. In which, scientists and founders play a key role in the development of S&T, innovation in the city.

In the coming time, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Ngo Thi Kim Yen hopes that experts and scientists will continue to research, promote the application of science and technology into practice, gradually commercialize research results, link research results with innovative start-up activities, in order to contribute to the socio-economic development of the city, building Da Nang city into one of the major socio-economic centers of the country and Southeast Asia with the role of a center for start-ups and innovation in accordance with the spirit of Resolution No. 43-NQ/TW dated January 24, 2019 of the Politburo.

At the ceremony, the authors of 01 useful solution were granted a protection certificate by the Department of Intellectual Property and 41 authors and groups of authors of works published in prestigious scientific journals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Chairman of the City People's Committee with a total bonus of more than 92 million VND.

At the same time, 9 collectives and 9 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Chairman of the City People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in innovative start-up activities in 2022 with a total bonus of more than 40 million VND.

Previously, in 2022, the Department of Science and Technology received 445 applications for awards, including 01 applied science and technology project in the city; 01 achievement winning a ministerial award; 01 solution, invention and 442 scientific articles published in prestigious international scientific journals.
