Not only stopping at traditional activities, many new, creative models and digital technology applications are being strongly deployed, contributing to spreading reading culture widely in the community.

In response to this year's Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day, Quang Ninh Provincial Library is organizing a series of diverse activities that will last until the end of April. That is the exhibition "Entering the era of national growth with books", displaying 3,000 books, newspapers, and magazines.

Quang Ninh Provincial Library has many practical ways and activities to attract readers and promote reading culture in the community.

The highlight of the series of activities is the program “Reading Culture - Connecting the Community” on the morning of April 18, including an inspirational talk by speaker Nguyen Son Lam on the topic “Reading - Enriching knowledge, nurturing aspirations, promoting innovation and creativity” and giving library cards to poor students who overcome difficulties. Along with that, “Quang Ninh Book Week for Promoting Education 2025” creates opportunities for readers to access books at preferential prices, accompany 1980 Books and implement book donation activities for remote areas.

This is just one of the outstanding activities in the series of programs, following the Project on developing reading culture in the community for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030, issued by Quang Ninh province. With meaningful and practical activities, the program is expected to spread reading culture widely in the community. Ms. Bui Thuy Hai, Director of the Provincial Library, shared: "We expect these activities to contribute to improving reading culture and creating reading habits in the community, not only among young people but also among all classes of people".

In addition to these events, Quang Ninh province also organizes in-depth activities such as the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest, Quang Ninh Book Fair, and Lifelong Learning Response Week. Direct and online book displays and exhibitions are maintained regularly, creating conditions for connecting the network of libraries inside and outside the province, expanding access to knowledge for people in all regions.

T-Book Cafe creates an interesting space that attracts many readers interested in books.

Not only stopping at traditional forms, many new and practical models have been born to meet the increasingly diverse reading needs of readers. Typical are book cafes and library cafes, combining reading, buying, selling, exchanging and donating books to provincial libraries or remote areas.

Book cafes such as Dong Tay Book Cafe, Yen Library (Hong Hai Ward), and T-Book (Monbay area, Tran Quoc Nghien Street...) in Ha Long have become popular destinations and spread to many districts, towns, and cities in the province. This model not only attracts readers but also "fuels" the passion for books for the shop owners. Ms. Tong Thi Yen, owner of T-Book, shared: "We have noticed the special attraction from this model and are planning to open specialized libraries, such as about history and Ha Long Bay, to better serve readers."

Anticipating the strong digital transformation trend, Quang Ninh Provincial Library has proactively implemented many synchronous solutions to promote reading culture in the digital age. With an area of nearly 10,000m² and a modern IT system, the library owns about 300,000 books, newspapers, magazines and more than 2 million digital documents, including 200,000 pages of Quang Ninh local records that have been digitized, helping to quickly look up.

Digital services such as online card registration, borrowing and searching for documents online are effectively implemented. The library also connects with schools and cooperates with tailieu.vn to spread the reading culture. Activities such as digital book exhibitions and online competitions attract a large number of readers, especially young people.

Traditional and innovative solutions create their own "channels" to attract readers.

With synchronous, creative and humane steps, it can be seen that reading culture has become an essential part of the spiritual life of Quang Ninh people. These practical actions not only arouse the passion for reading but also contribute to building a learning society, opening up a horizon of knowledge for the future.
