Speaking to Thanh Nien Online , Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - head of the Vietnamese delegation participating in the Asian cycling tournament said: "Athlete Nguyen Dan Binh suffered a dislocated shoulder and sprained ankle after an unfortunate fall on the track. The Vietnamese team's coaching staff took this athlete to the hospital for examination and treatment and are awaiting the results. Nguyen Dan Binh's bicycle was lent by the host Thailand and his ribs were broken after the accident, so the Vietnamese side had to compensate them with a new rib."

The Vietnamese cycling team participated in the 2025 Asian tournament with a large force, competing in 4 groups including the team, U.23, youth team and grassroots. On the first day of the tournament, the Vietnamese cycling team was unlucky with a fire in a truck carrying racing bicycles and equipment, causing 29 bicycles to burn down. As of yesterday, the Vietnamese team won 2 gold medals, both thanks to the athletes in the grassroots category, including individual gold medals by Ton Hoang Khanh Lan (female) and Hoang Hai Nam (male).
