(BDO) The Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (PC04), Provincial Police, has just coordinated to destroy a ring specializing in supplying "laughing gas" to karaoke bars, bars, and dance clubs.
Previously, at around 8:00 p.m. on May 23, through the investigation of a boarding house in An Binh Ward, Di An City, the police discovered that TVL (born in 1997, residing in Thu Dau Mot City) was selling a "laughing gas" (N2O) cylinder to a subject for 1.3 million VND. Through investigation, TVL voluntarily handed over another "laughing gas" cylinder that he was hiding in his car; at the same time, he confessed that he was keeping many "laughing gas" cylinders at a kiosk on Pham Ngoc Thach Street, Hiep Thanh Ward, Thu Dau Mot City. Immediately after that, the task force coordinated with Thu Dau Mot City Police to inspect the subject's kiosk and seized 7 more "laughing gas" cylinders, of which 6 were used.
Authorities inspect "laughing gas" cylinders hidden in a warehouse in Phu My ward.
Expanding the investigation, at around 00:00 on May 25, PC04 coordinated with Thu Dau Mot City Police to inspect a warehouse in Quarter 1, Phu My Ward, Thu Dau Mot City, owned by NPD (born in 1998, residing in Phu Loi Ward, Thu Dau Mot City) and discovered 71 2.5kg "laughing gas" cylinders; 61 20kg cylinders; 26 "laughing gas" cylinder shells of various types; 1 gas decanting machine and many related exhibits. NPD has not yet presented a decanting, trading license as well as a business license for restricted chemicals for production and trading in the industrial sector.
According to documents from the investigation agency, each night the subjects supplied from 10 to 20 cylinders of "laughing gas" to bars, clubs, and karaoke tables in Binh Duong province and illegally profited a large amount of money.
The abuse of laughing gas can cause serious health effects. In addition, illegal drug dealers and drug users take advantage of “laughing gas” to “hide” and mix drugs in to lure and entice young people to use illegal drugs.
The case is currently being further investigated for handling in accordance with the law.
