Novaland's largest shareholder registered to sell 2 million NVL shares
Novagroup JSC registered to sell 2 million NVL shares of No Va Real Estate Investment Group (Novaland). The expected implementation time is from July 18 to July 26 by order matching or negotiation. If the transaction is successful, the ownership ratio of this company will decrease from 17.89% (equivalent to 348.8 million shares) to 17.78% (equivalent to 346.8 million shares).
Previously, Novagroup had signed to sell 2 million NVL shares from June 27 to July 12 by order matching or negotiation but did not execute the transaction due to changes to suit the debt restructuring support plan. Novagroup is currently the largest shareholder of Novaland.
Dong A Plastics leaders choose to work without salary due to business losses
Dong A Plastics Group Joint Stock Company (stock code DAG) passed a resolution that members of the Board of Directors will not receive remuneration in 2023. The reason is that this year's business results are losses. The financial report shows that Dong A Plastics lost more than VND 257 billion in 2023, while the previous year it made a profit of more than VND 7 billion. Revenue in 2023 decreased by nearly half, to nearly VND 1,204 billion.
It is known that in 2023, the Board of Directors of Dong A Plastics will have 5 members, with Mr. Tran Viet Thang as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Duong Ngoc Dieu as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. Two members of the Board of Directors include Mr. Nguyen Huu Quan and Pham Quang Huynh (independent members).
OCB Bank has a new General Director
Orient Commercial Joint Stock Bank (OCB, stock code OCB) announced the decision of the Board of Directors on the appointment of senior personnel. Mr. Pham Hong Hai officially held the position of General Director of OCB from July 16.
According to OCB, Mr. Pham Hong Hai (born in 1974, from Hai Phong) has nearly 30 years of experience in the banking and finance sector. Mr. Hai was appointed General Director of HSBC Vietnam from December 2014 to September 2019, becoming the first Vietnamese to hold the highest leadership position of an international bank in Vietnam. During his nearly 5-year tenure, Mr. Hai has led this organization to many important results with strong growth in scale and profit.
Banking stocks help VN-Index reverse upward trend
Under the positive influence of the VN30 basket and banking stocks, the stock market today (July 16) had a quite positive performance after 4 adjustments with declining liquidity. At the end of the session, VN-Index increased slightly by 1.36 points (+0.11%) to 1,281.18 points with trading volume increasing by 34.33% compared to the previous session. Foreign investors continued to net sell VND 234.57 billion at HOSE.
The most active industry group today is pharmaceuticals and healthcare with many stocks increasing dramatically such as DCL (+6.99%), DVM (+9.37%), DHG (+6.92%), AMV (+9.09%)... However, the biggest contributor to the index's increase was banking, with 20/27 stocks on all three exchanges increasing in price with volume in many stocks increasing sharply.
