The flood that occurred from the night of September 12 to the early morning of September 13 left 5 people dead, 2 missing and 7 injured. Some households suffered severe damage to their houses. The productive land of about 200 households was severely damaged. Local authorities are still maintaining about 300 people to search for the missing people. After the flood, the two main sectors of aquaculture and homestay tourism of many households in Lien Minh commune were severely damaged; especially aquaculture facilities suffered damage of about 250 billion VND.

Many central ministries, branches, local authorities and organizations have made efforts to help people overcome the damage. However, many households are still facing difficulties because they have devoted all their resources to aquaculture and tourism investment, and have suffered great losses after the flood. People wish to have their debts deferred and refinanced and continue to borrow for reinvestment.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, President Vo Van Thuong sent his deepest condolences to the families suffering pain and loss due to the deaths and missing people as a result of the flood.

Visiting, encouraging and sharing with the people about the great loss of life and property caused by flash floods, President Vo Van Thuong requested local authorities to continue mobilizing forces for search and rescue; encourage and help the affected families and count the damage to urgently support people after the floods.
