In recent days, the northern mountainous region has experienced heavy to very heavy rain (generally from 150-250mm, some places over 250mm), causing landslides, flash floods, flooding and damage to people, infrastructure, housing and production of people. According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from June 25-27, the northern mountainous region continues to have heavy rain, some places very heavy rain, risk of flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas and flooding in low-lying areas.
To proactively respond and minimize damage caused by heavy rains and the risk of flash floods and landslides, the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control and the Office of the National Committee for Incident, Disaster Response and Search and Rescue request the Steering Committees for Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of the northern mountainous provinces to urgently monitor closely forecasts and warnings, promptly provide information to authorities at all levels and people to proactively prevent and respond; mobilize forces to support people to overcome consequences and stabilize their lives.
At the same time, deploy shock forces to inspect and review residential areas along rivers, streams, low-lying areas, and areas at high risk of flooding, flash floods, and landslides to proactively organize the relocation and evacuation of people to safe places; prepare forces and means for rescue when required.
In addition, Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam News Agency and other media agencies have increased reporting on heavy rain developments to authorities at all levels and people to proactively prevent them.
In addition, the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue in the Northern mountainous provinces organized serious on-duty shifts and regularly reported to the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control and the Office of the National Committee for Incident Response, Disaster Response and Search and Rescue.
