"Shocked" with schools with benchmark scores of 29 points or more

In 2024 University Admissions, many schools have a benchmark score that “hits the ceiling” with 29 points or more. On average, it is over 9.6 points per subject, such as Literature Pedagogy, History Pedagogy, Journalism, Public Relations, etc.

With 29.3 points for the majors of Literature Pedagogy and History Pedagogy, Hanoi National University of Education is the school with the highest admission score in 2024 up to this point, on a 30-point scale, according to the admission method based on high school graduation exam scores.

Also having a very high benchmark is Geography Pedagogy with 29.05 points, with an additional criterion that the order of wishes cannot be greater than 2.

Public Relations Department - University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi - has a benchmark score of 29.1

Ranked second in terms of benchmark scores is the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi - with a benchmark score of 29.1 for Public Relations, group C00; 29.05 for Korean Studies, group C00. The benchmark score for Journalism at this school is also very high, at 29.03 for group C00.

The Diplomatic Academy also has some majors with a benchmark score above 29, such as International Communications (group C00) with 29.05 points. Chinese Studies (group C00) has the highest score, up to 29.2 points.

Also with an average score of 9.6 points/subject to pass is the English Pedagogy major (38.45 points, 40-point scale) of the University of Foreign Languages, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Following that is the Chinese Pedagogy major with 37.85 points; Korean Pedagogy major with 37.31 points; and Japanese Pedagogy major with 37.21 points.

The majors and schools with extremely high benchmark scores, with benchmark scores increasing sharply compared to 2023 in the C00 group (Literature, History, Geography). Almost reaching the benchmark score of 29 are the Journalism major of Hanoi University of Culture with a benchmark score of 28.9 points (group C00), the Primary Education major (University of Education - VNU Hanoi) with up to 28.89 points, the Economic Law major of Hanoi Law University is 28.83 points.

The high benchmark scores at schools considering the C00 combination are due to the average score of this combination increasing by 1.98 points compared to last year (according to data from the Ministry of Education and Training). Other combinations increased by 0.2 - 0.6 points.

Specifically, the Literature exam scores increased significantly. The highest score was 8 - an increase of 1 point compared to last year. There were quite a few scores of 9 and above. The number of 10 points in History was 789. Geography was the subject with a sudden increase in the number of 10 points with 3,175 (while in 2023 there were only 35).
