Pair of 30 meter long snake mascots decorate Tet At Ty in Hue
On January 14, information from the People's Committee of Thuan Hoa District (Hue City) said that the pair of snake mascots to decorate the Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025 in Hue is being prepared for installation in the area of the memorial yard of fallen soldiers (also known as Quoc Hoc stele), in front of Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted, Vinh Ninh Ward, Thuan Hoa District, Hue.
According to the design, the pair of snake mascots for the Lunar New Year of At Ty in Hue is the same size as the dragon mascot decorating the Lunar New Year 2024, with a length of 30 meters, located in the area of the National University stele yard, next to Le Loi street.
The snake mascot is inspired by the Nhiem Xa carving on the Hue Nine Dynastic Urns - a World Cultural Heritage recognized by UNESCO in 2024. The mascots are shaped in pairs to create a friendly, majestic feeling, with decorations, motifs and colors typical of Hue.
The pair of snake mascots is fixed with a steel frame to ensure sturdiness and long-term durability. Other parts are designed to match, creating aesthetics.
The pair of snake mascots is expected to be completed on January 18, promising to be an ideal check-in, souvenir photo, and sightseeing spot for locals and tourists.

According to research documents, the image of Nhiem Xa (also known as Mai Canh Xa ) is carved on Anh Dinh (the third bronze cauldron of the Hue Nine Cauldrons, located from the left looking from The Mieu to Hien Lam Cac, Hue Imperial City). This animal often hides in the forest, waiting for animals to pass by, then jumps to catch prey and swallow it.
