On April 28, according to Thanh Nien , at the foot of the Han River Bridge on Tran Hung Dao Street (Da Nang City), dozens of people and specialized vehicles were busy transporting bonsai trees with "unique" shapes to prepare for the 2023 Congress of the Da Nang City Ornamental Plants Association.
The congress was held to celebrate the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, April 30.
Mr. Ho Ngoc Hung (49 years old, bonsai manager of Hai Chau District, Da Nang City) shared: "In previous years, due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, the city could not organize bonsai competitions and exhibitions. This year, Da Nang City organized it again so that gardeners could have the opportunity to display their favorite products, celebrating the country's reunification day. I brought more than 100 trees to display, including 3 trees with beautiful and unique shapes to participate in the competition, the rest were displayed in the exhibition".
Mr. Hung trimmed the bonsai before the competition day.
According to Mr. Hung, the preparation and arrangement of ornamental plants began on April 26.
The 2023 Da Nang Ornamental Plants Exhibition and Competition will officially open on April 30 and close on May 6. There will be gardeners from 7 provinces and cities participating, including Quang Nam, Da Nang City, Quang Ngai, and some provinces in the Southwest region...
Bonsai gardeners share their experiences growing bonsai with their creations.
The contest features dozens of ornamental tree species such as pine, yellow apricot, water mai, mountain cypress, etc. The ornamental trees are cared for and nurtured by garden owners for many years, the largest trees are about 70 - 80 years old.
In addition, the bonsai competition and exhibition also displays many valuable rockery, miniature landscape, and rockery works by gardeners from many provinces and cities.
Tourists enjoy watching the "giant" bonsai trees being transported.
Mr. Ngo Van Lang - the person in charge of receiving ornamental stones at the exhibition area - said: "The ornamental stone exhibition area displays many stones with unique appearances. Ornamental stones are shaped by nature, not carved by human hands. The ornamental stones displayed here have many owners, most of them are collected and bought and sold. Each stone has its own beauty and no two stones are alike. Trees may be similar but ornamental stones have only one unique beauty, not duplicated...".
The ornamental rocks have added uniqueness to the exhibition area.
Collectors share that the beautifully shaped stones are all located in areas where volcanoes used to be active. Duy Trung area (Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam) is famous for its ornamental stones. In particular, the geological structure in Quang Nam province has gold mines, so the ornamental stones will be more beautiful than in other areas.
The rock has the shape of a young bamboo shoot.
It is expected that in the coming days, gardeners will continue to transport many "giant" bonsai trees to participate in the 2023 Da Nang Bonsai Exhibition and Competition and complete before April 30.
