Consumer price index in March decreased by 0.44%

According to data from the Khanh Hoa Provincial Statistics Office, the consumer price index (CPI) in March 2025 decreased by 0.44% compared to the previous month; increased by 1.85% over the same period last year.

Of the 11 main groups of goods and services, 4 groups had price indexes that decreased, including: Food and catering services decreased by 0.9%; household appliances and equipment decreased by 0.05%; transportation decreased by 2.05%; culture, entertainment and tourism decreased by 0.03%. 4 groups of goods and services had price indexes that increased, including: Beverages and tobacco increased by 0.08%; clothing, hats, and footwear increased by 0.16%; housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials increased by 0.18%; other goods and services increased by 0.21%. The group of medicines and medical services; the group of post and telecommunications; and the group of education had stable price indexes.

The main reason for the CPI decrease in March was due to the decrease in prices of food, foodstuffs, and eating out; the adjustment of gas and oil prices, combined with the decrease in travel demand, caused the price of passenger transport tickets by road and rail to decrease.
