A fire broke out at a hot pot restaurant in District 7 (HCMC) and spread to an adjacent pharmacy, destroying much of the property.
This afternoon (February 21), District 7 Police are still coordinating with relevant parties to block off and examine the scene of a large fire on Huynh Tan Phat Street, Tan Phu Ward.
At 4am that same day, people discovered a fire breaking out inside a hot pot restaurant on Huynh Tan Phat Street. They immediately knocked on the door to alert the people inside the restaurant and neighboring businesses.
A woman in a pharmacy next to the hotpot restaurant heard the fire alarm and quickly escaped. At the same time, many neighbors brought mini fire extinguishers to help put out the fire but were unsuccessful.
The red fire and billowing smoke quickly spread to the pharmacy. Fearing the fire would spread and explode because there were many large gas tanks inside the hot pot restaurant, many people evacuated away from the area.
The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of District 7 Police dispatched many vehicles and officers and soldiers to the scene.
After about 30 minutes, the fire was under control.
The fire did not cause any human injuries but burned down many properties inside the hot pot restaurant and pharmacy.
