Activities to celebrate the 79th National Day on September 2 and towards the 9th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union (term 2024-2029) took place at many locations with the participation of thousands of young people in Ho Chi Minh City.

Two peak activities "I love my Fatherland"

At Thu Ngu flagpole (Bach Dang wharf, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City), Permanent Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union Doan Truong Quang said that the journey "I love my Fatherland" includes two peak activities.

Phase 1 (August 31 to September 30) with the theme "Ho Chi Minh City - The City I Love" celebrates the 79th National Day September 2, the 10th anniversary of the Central Party Secretariat choosing 2014 as the "Year of Youth Volunteers", the 25th milestone of the National Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign (2000-2024).

Phase 2 (October 1 to October 31) with the theme "Uncle Ho's City Youth - Continuing on the Path" focuses on emulation activities and achievements to welcome the 9th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union (term 2024-2029) and the 68th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Youth Union (October 15).

Cultivate patriotism in every young person

The "I love my Fatherland" flag-raising ceremony was performed according to the protocol of the Vietnam Youth Union, expressing national pride and gratitude for the great sacrifices for today's peace, freedom and national independence.

"That is the driving force that encourages generations of young people to promote their youth, participate in building and protecting the Fatherland, and build and develop Ho Chi Minh City with a good quality of life, civilized, modern, and affectionate," said Mr. Doan Truong Quang.

The journey "I love my Fatherland" is an opportunity for each member and young person of the city to participate in many activities to express patriotism, national pride, and gratitude to previous generations. Thereby, it evokes a sense of responsibility in protecting, building and developing the country and the city.

The city-level "I love my Fatherland" flag-raising ceremony was held at three main locations with the participation of young people and youth leaders. In addition to the main location at the Thu Ngu flagpole (District 1), there were two other locations, at the statue of Dr. Pham Ngoc Thach (Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, District 10) and the statue of General Nguyen Chi Thanh (Nguyen Chi Thanh High School, Tan Binh District).

On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union announced the official song of the 9th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union (term 2024-2029).

Along with that, the City Association Committee also directed the Thu Duc City Association Committee and districts to have specific contents and activities in response to the journey "I love my Fatherland".
