Musician Nguyen Van Chung was once stuck because he didn't know what to do after his great success.
Musician Nguyen Van Chung said that around 2009 was the peak of his career when he had 3 songs on the charts: "Warm Wind Scarf", "Lack of Cold Winter" and "Rainy Road".
Next, 2012 was also a new career peak when the song "Mother's Diary" was just released and created a nationwide buzz. "At that time, Chung did not know what to do anymore because those achievements were already a source of pride in Chung's composing career. Chung did not know where to go next" - the male musician confided.
Stuck because he didn't know what to do next after his success, but when his son was born at the end of 2012, by 2013, the male musician knew he would have to challenge himself in another musical field and he chose to write children's songs for his child.
He set himself the goal of building a new children's music garden for children with 300 children's songs. And by 2020, musician Nguyen Van Chung had completed that goal and was recognized by the Vietnam Record Organization as the young musician who composed the most children's songs in Vietnam.
He also fell into the situation of selling music that no one bought.
Despite such a "huge" achievement, Nguyen Van Chung has to face another sadness. "Chung's biggest sadness is not being able to make money.
Chung is writing pop music, each song sells for tens of millions, but no one buys children's music, they only give it to their children to sing. Parents who can afford it buy it for their children, but the price can't be high.
Chung's second sadness is self-confidence. I am a musician, and at the end of each year I receive an award from an award ceremony like Blue Wave, but children's music does not have any awards honoring children's music. Chung feels very sad and sorry for himself. Going on that path alone is like swimming alone in the ocean, lost alone in the desert and not knowing where to go" - he shared.
But he remained steadfast in his path.
