(Dan Tri) - Nguyen Lee Hieu, a 9-year-old boy of Vietnamese origin, won First Prize at the final round of the 19th China-Singapore International Music Competition held in Singapore.
Passionate about the Ukulele since the age of 5, Nguyen Lee Hieu - a 9-year-old boy of Vietnamese origin with Australian nationality has made his mark with a series of prestigious awards at many domestic and international music competitions.

In early 2025, at the 19th China - Singapore International Music Competition, Nguyen Lee Hieu excelled over thousands of international contestants to win First Prize in the Guitar category, amateur, group II.
With his captivating and professional performance, Lee Hieu conquered the judges and audience at the show.
Pianist Nguyen Le Thuyen Ha, President of the China - Singapore International Music Competition in Vietnam, Artistic Director of Polaris Education System Vietnam commented: "Lee Hieu is a talented boy, shining naturally wherever he goes. In this competition, despite facing a lot of pressure, he still maintained his seriousness and invested carefully in his performance. I hope Lee Hieu will continue to have more opportunities to develop further in 2025."

From a young age, Nguyen Lee Hieu showed his passion for music, especially the Ukulele. When he was only 5 years old, Lee Hieu's parents wanted him to learn an additional subject and he happily chose the Ukulele. Since then, Lee Hieu has been attached to the instrument and music, becoming an indispensable part of his life.
Nguyen Lee Hieu's parents also expressed their joy and pride when witnessing their son not only finding his passion but also constantly progressing, making memorable marks in his musical journey.
"When we decided to let our child learn an additional musical instrument, we only wanted him to develop comprehensively and learn more life skills. However, since starting with the ukulele, Lee Hieu has shown a strong passion, actively practicing every day without our reminding.
"Being able to accompany our son in music competitions and events, witnessing Lee Hieu confidently perform on big stages and share his passion for the Ukulele, we feel extremely surprised and happy. We will always support and continue to accompany our son on the path of pursuing his passion for music," said Lee Hieu's father.

Previously, in 2024, Nguyen Lee Hieu made a strong impression with impressive achievements at prestigious domestic and international music competitions. He was a guest performer at major music events such as: Korea Ukulele Festival 2024, Malaysia International Ukulele Festival Concert 2024 in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) in December 2024...
Lee Hieu was also selected as Ambassador and special guest performer at the Malaysia Ukulele Talent Contest 2024.

Also in 2024, at the Hong Kong International Music Festival Finals, Nguyen Lee Hieu won First Prize in the Guitar - Ukulele competition for primary school age, and passed the interview round and was selected to perform at the closing night of the awards ceremony of this international music festival.

Currently, Nguyen Lee Hieu is studying at the International School of Ho Chi Minh City (ISHCMC). Besides learning the Ukulele, Lee Hieu also does well in other subjects in class, is loved and supported by teachers in his journey to pursue his passion for music.
