Quang Nam Anh Mai Quang Truong, Tam Anh Bac commune, Nui Thanh district caught a bass over one meter long, 15 kg in the Truong Giang river.
On the evening of September 9, Mr. Truong, 36 years old, and two friends brought many fishing rods and fresh bait including small fish and shrimp to fish on the Truong Giang River, Tam Hoa Commune, Nui Thanh District.

Three people were on a local oyster farm on the river, fishing, each rod was equipped with a bell. At around 5am on September 10, Mr. Truong noticed one of the rods shaking, the bell ringing loudly.
He ran to grab the fishing rod and pulled hard, the fish struggled far away, sometimes jumping out of the water. It took Truong 20 minutes to pull it to shore. The fish was more than a meter long, and its body was more than 30 centimeters wide at its widest point. Many people asked to buy it but he did not sell it, instead he took it home to share with his relatives and friends.
This angler has been fishing for more than 5 years and has caught many sea bass, but the largest one weighed about 5kg. "This is the first time I've caught such a big sea bass," Mr. Truong shared.
Sea bass lives in both saltwater and fresh water and is found in many places around the world. In Vietnam, sea bass, also known as barramundi, is popular in the market. The fish is usually 30-50 cm long, but some can be up to 1.8 m long. The price of large sea bass is 120,000 VND/kg.
