The business community is constantly growing
According to the Provincial People's Committee, in 2024, the world situation continues to be complicated, with many difficulties and challenges. The socio-economic development situation of the country in general and the province in particular also faces many difficulties, production and business activities in some industries and fields recover slowly, and the export market for goods is unstable.
However, the province has focused on implementing the Central Government's direction resolutely and effectively; the participation of the entire political system, the leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee; the determination to carry out the socio-economic development tasks of all levels and sectors; including the very important contribution of the business community. Thereby, contributing to promoting the province's socio-economic situation to achieve outstanding results.
According to the Provincial People's Committee, 2024 is the first time in the 2020-2025 term that the Party Committee, together with the government and people, strived to overcome difficulties and challenges to achieve and surpass 21/21 main targets. The province's export turnover exceeded the 1 billion USD mark for the first time; the number of tourists to the province reached over 1.9 million, revenue reached over 990 billion VND, the highest ever.
According to Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Lu Quang Ngoi, the whole province currently has more than 4,200 enterprises operating and declaring taxes in most industries and fields of production and business; operating not only domestically but many enterprises and businessmen are reaching out to the region and the world.
At the same time, a force of young, dynamic entrepreneurs appeared, daring to think, daring to do, daring to face difficulties with many start-up models that have contributed to taking advantage of available local raw materials, creating more jobs, and increasing income for people.
“In 2024, Vinh Long province overcame difficulties, restored the economy and maintained stability, development, and successfully implemented many important goals set forth by the Provincial Party Resolution, creating peace of mind, excitement, and trust in the entire Party, people, and army.
In that common achievement, there is a great contribution from the business community in the province. Although the economy still has many difficulties, the business community of Vinh Long has constantly strived, gradually matured and affirmed its role and position in its activities" - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Lu Quang Ngoi emphasized.
Businesses want to accompany and solve difficulties
At the meeting of enterprises, non-governmental organizations, overseas Vietnamese and overseas Vietnamese relatives on the occasion of celebrating the Party and the Lunar New Year 2025, leaders of associations, unions and a number of enterprises said that in recent times, the provincial business community has always received the attention of Party committees and authorities at all levels, the support and close coordination of departments, branches and localities, associations and unions have had many effective and positive activities, accompanying the development of enterprises in many fields of production, business, trade, services...
According to Mr. Nguyen Tuong Nam - Chairman of the Provincial Business Association, at present, although there is a lot of development potential, Vinh Long also faces many challenges such as: infrastructure has not developed synchronously: the system of transport infrastructure, logistics, and support services has not met the requirements; difficulties in attracting investors, especially large investors, domestic and foreign; the content of science and technology in production, business and the provincial economy is not high;...
Especially the competitiveness of local enterprises, most of which are medium, small and micro-sized. Many enterprises are not strong enough to compete with enterprises from other provinces and cities, especially in the context of international integration and the strong development of science and technology; the source of unskilled labor in the province is no longer as abundant as before.
According to Mr. Nam, businesses hope that provincial leaders, all levels and sectors will continue to support business connections, trade connections, create opportunities to participate in trade promotion, sales, product promotion; connect businesses outside the province and potential markets.
At the same time, continue to reform administrative procedures, ensuring cost and time savings, without affecting business opportunities for enterprises... It is necessary to quickly implement approved plans of the province and localities.

Enterprises hope to quickly implement local and industry planning to have a strategy for investing in infrastructure, planning for industrial, agricultural and commercial production to create opportunities and room for economic development.
Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Tan Thu - Chairman of the Young Entrepreneurs Association of Vinh Long province, commented that in the coming time, enterprises of the province will still face difficulties when key traffic projects are put into operation such as the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway, the Dai Ngai bridge, etc., along with many industrial parks of other provinces in the region that are being urgently built, which will create great pressure on the competition of enterprises.
“Currently, National Highway 53 and National Highway 54 in the province cannot meet the demand and many sections are seriously degraded. The Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association hopes that the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Council, and Provincial People's Committee will pay attention to recommending the Central Government to soon upgrade the above two national highways, start construction of Dinh Khao bridge soon, upgrade and expand the road to the center of Tam Binh and Mang Thit districts... so that enterprises can expand their production scale and reduce transportation costs, increasing competitiveness" - Mr. Thu suggested.
According to Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Lu Quang Ngoi, in 2025, in the general context of many unpredictable difficulties and challenges, Vinh Long province continues to successfully implement the goals of the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress for the term 2020-2025; completing the highest targets of the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2021-2025.
Especially the goal of the Vinh Long Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. Specifically, focusing on building Vinh Long into a high-tech, ecological agricultural province; one of the agricultural economic centers of the Mekong Delta region; with a synchronous, modern infrastructure system connecting smoothly with localities in the Mekong Delta region...
In order to successfully implement the set goals, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also hopes that associations and provincial business associations will promote their role as bridges and connections between enterprises and state management agencies and socio-political organizations; regularly exchange information, closely coordinate between the government and enterprises to propose solutions to resolve difficulties and obstacles for enterprises in investment, production and business activities.
