Up to this point, many schools have confirmed that Circular 29 does not affect the review plan for final year students...

Strictly implementing Circular 29, schools must still ensure review work for final year students is a consistent direction of the Ministry of Education and Training and the Departments of Education and Training with educational institutions.

Students of Tran Hung Dao High School, Nam Dinh City

According to Ms. Tran Thi Thuy Mui, Vice Principal of Tran Hung Dao High School, Nam Dinh City , before Circular 29, the school had thoroughly informed all teachers in the school about the "3 no's": no organizing extra classes in school; no extra classes outside of school with students they teach; no organizing and managing extra classes outside of school. For 12th grade students who are preparing for the high school graduation exam, the school is developing a plan to support them in the best way possible to review.

"The review plan for final year students that the school built at the beginning of the year ended on February 13. During this time, we are surveying the review needs of 12th grade students and rebuilding the plan according to Circular 29. We assigned the subject groups to build plans for each subject to review for the students. In particular, we call for the spirit of voluntary teaching from teachers to support students in the best way possible," said Ms. Thuy Mui.

With only a few months left until the high school graduation exam, the ban on extra tutoring in schools has made parents and students extremely worried. Ms. Thuy Mui said that 12th grade teachers always strive to innovate teaching methods, make the most of the 45-minute class period to teach students most effectively, guide students on how to study on their own by giving them more lessons, correcting lessons that they do not understand, providing reference materials and guiding students on review methods...".

According to Ms. Thuy Mui, one of the goals of Circular 29 is to help students practice self-study instead of depending on extra classes. Therefore, for final year students, at this "sprint" time, if they have the awareness to self-study, it will be a great advantage in the race to enter top universities. In particular, Ms. Thuy Mui said, at this time, parents need more companionship and responsibility in supporting and urging their children during the exam preparation period.

Mr. Nguyen Cao Cuong, Principal of Thai Thinh Secondary School

As for grade 9 students at Thai Thinh Secondary School (Dong Da District, Hanoi), Mr. Nguyen Cao Cuong - Principal of the school - affirmed that Circular 29 will not affect the students' exam preparation plan. "Thai Thinh Secondary School does not organize extra classes in the school, so the exam preparation plan for final year students will still be implemented according to the plan from the beginning of the school year and as every year. We will organize exam preparation for students from mid-April. The school will pay the teachers according to the school's internal spending regulations."

Mr. Nguyen Cao Cuong emphasized that supporting final year students to review for exams is the responsibility and dedication of 9th grade teachers. "Every teacher wants their students to pass their desired high school entrance exam. Therefore, teachers are always dedicated, closely following, supporting students in the best way, without sparing any effort. That is why, for many years now, the results of the 10th grade entrance exam for public high schools of Thai Thinh Secondary School students have always been at the top in Dong Da District. In the 2024 exam, the school's Literature subject ranked 1st, and Math ranked 2nd in the District," said Mr. Nguyen Cao Cuong.

Not organizing extra classes but still having to ensure the quality of review is a big challenge for both teachers and students. However, with the support of teachers, the companionship of parents, and especially the efforts of students, they can still achieve good results in exams without having to depend on extra classes after hours.
