At the regular press conference on September 23, the spokesperson of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Le Thi Thu Hang, affirmed that Vietnamese authorities always closely monitor developments in the East Sea, especially regarding the information that China's South Sea Fleet sent Y-20 transport aircraft to Vanh Khan, Xu Bi and Chu Thap reefs in Vietnam's Truong Sa archipelago, demonstrating Vietnam's consistent stance and determination in protecting its sovereignty and legitimate rights. The statement clearly reflects Vietnam's stance on the issue of sovereignty over the Truong Sa archipelago, as well as rights in related waters and continental shelf. The identification of locations is part of affirming Vietnam's territorial rights. The spokesperson's affirmation shows that the Vietnamese Government pays great attention to the security situation in the East Sea and is ready to monitor and promptly respond to actions that may threaten national security or violate sovereignty. Tensions in the East Sea have been escalating frequently, and the South Sea Fleet’s deployment of transport aircraft to the islands has raised concerns about the increased foreign military presence in the region. This could lead to conflicts and affect regional stability. Vietnam has always called on relevant parties to respect international law, specifically the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), and to take peaceful measures to resolve disputes.
Vietnam has also made it clear that it will not hesitate to defend its legitimate rights and sovereignty, and will use all necessary measures to maintain security and stability in the region. The statement also plays an important role in providing information to the public and raising awareness of the situation in the East Sea, thereby arousing patriotism and a sense of protecting territorial sovereignty among the people. Such statements from the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs are not only an affirmation of sovereignty but also a declaration that Vietnam is committed to maintaining peace and stability in the East Sea and is ready to protect its legitimate rights./.
