Singer Ha Vy returns after 9 years of 'disappearance', reveals period of depression

Young singer Ha Vy (stage name May Bae) officially returned to the professional music stage after 9 years, since the show The Voice Kids 2015.

Thai Thi Ha Vy, born in 2001 in Quang Nam. The female singer attracted attention when she participated in The Voice Kids 2015 with the song See you again . She later became a student of musician Duong Khac Linh and was carefully instructed.

After the contest, Ha Vy decided to leave her hometown to study and pursue a singing career in Ho Chi Minh City. She lives with her brother, who is also a young singer. Every day, the two siblings sing at venues, small stages or wedding parties. When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, all stages had to stop operating, Ha Vy tried her hand at being a streamer on social media.

The singer was praised for her beauty as an adult.

With a strong and unique voice, able to sing many different genres of music and languages, Ha Vy quickly became an idol on social networking platforms with millions of likes.

She has a large online fan base, thanks to which she receives enough donations to cover her living expenses and passion.

"However, trouble arose from that when I was supported by the audience, along with controversies on social networks. I was stressed, depressed and there was a period when I wanted to give up everything," she recalled.

Thanks to the encouragement of friends and relatives, Ha Vy recovered from the shock. In May 2023, she returned and chose the TikTok platform to cover popular songs and interact with the audience.

She quickly had clips with millions of views, creating trends. In just one year, the female singer owns a TikTok channel with 2.6 million followers. Every day, she livestreams for at least 5-6 hours, sings many songs and chats with her fans.

To mark her return, Ha Vy recently performed the May's Back music night. She invited her close friend Felix Tien Quang - also a student of musician Duong Khac Linh at The Voice Kids 2015 - to be a guest singer on stage.

Musician Duong Khac Linh and his wife Sara Luu were also present at the concert, giving many words of advice and support to their student's return. Runner-up Duong Yen Ngoc, Kieu Thi Thuy Hang, rapper Tien Nho... also attended to support the return of the former child singer.

During the concert, Ha Vy performed more than 20 songs. These were all covers of domestic and foreign artists, which were supported and requested by the audience every night during the livestream sessions.

Besides singing, the singer also raps, plays instruments… and tries to show off her dancing skills with the dance troupe. After the show, Ha Vy will return to the professional music stage and release new music products.

During the music night, musician Duong Khac Linh promised to help his students have their own songs with their own personal stamp.
