The chef will serve meals aboard Space Perspective's Spaceship Neptune, the world's first carbon-neutral spacecraft, on a mission scheduled to launch in late 2025 from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
SpaceVIP has recruited chef Rasmus Munk
In a statement, Space Perspective founder and co-CEO Jane Poynter said the company is making the experience of space more accessible than ever through unique flights that enable life-changing moments and give us a deeper insight into the world.
Ascending to an altitude of around 30km above sea level, adventurers will have access to onboard wifi and will be able to live stream their experiences and connect with friends and family back home during the flight. Travellers will also get to watch the sun rise over the curvature of the earth in style.
Explorers will also watch the sun rise over the curvature of the earth.
According to Chiporukha, chef Rasmus will serve imaginative dishes “inspired by the role of space exploration in human history and its impact on our society over the past 60 years, both scientifically and philosophically.” Although, Chiporukha said the dishes have not been finalized and will be revealed after the next planning phase of the expedition.
Chef Ramsus' Copenhagen-based restaurant Alchemist has received two Michelin stars since 2020 and is ranked fifth among the world's top eateries in the World's 50 Best Restaurants.
