(MPI) - On the afternoon of February 14, 2025, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung received Mr. Chey Tae Won, Chairman of SK Group, Korea.

At the meeting, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung reviewed some contents of the meeting between General Secretary To Lam and Mr. Chey Tae Won that took place in the afternoon of the same day; hoping that SK would fully absorb and quickly realize the discussed contents.
Minister Nguyen Chi Dung highly appreciated SK's contributions to Vietnam in general and to the National Innovation Center and the Ministry of Planning and Investment in particular, and said that the Party and State of Vietnam are accelerating and making breakthroughs to develop in the long term to achieve the set goals.
Accordingly, SK Group wishes to cooperate with the Vietnamese Government in proposing the construction of large-scale LNG power plants, on that basis continuing to develop new energy centers associated with the development of artificial intelligence, logistics, hydrogen, environmentally friendly agriculture and innovation.
Once again, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung thanked and appreciated SK's goodwill towards Vietnam and hoped that SK would continue to pay attention to increasing investment in Vietnam; continue to accompany and support the National Innovation Center in forming priority industries and fields here; in the immediate future, support the research and development center; train and develop human resources for the semiconductor industry. The Minister also expressed his belief that SK will invest heavily, contributing to the development process, to the new era of Vietnam, the era of rising up and prosperity.

For his part, Mr. Chey Tae Won thanked Minister Nguyen Chi Dung for taking the time to welcome him; thanked the attention and support of the Ministry of Planning and Investment in general and the Minister in particular for SK in the past time. At the same time, he said that SK wishes to participate in Vietnam's green transformation process, especially in the fields of energy and industry, contributing to Vietnam's Net Zero goal by 2050.
Accordingly, SK Group proposed to cooperate with the Vietnamese Government to build the Center for Artificial Intelligence Development and Innovation based on the integrated development of the Nghi Son - Quynh Lap LNG power project in the North Central region; Hydrogen, Logistics and Innovation Center based on electricity production from the Ca Na LNG Project in the South Central region; and Center for environmentally friendly agriculture and innovation based on the Ca Mau LNG Project in the Mekong Delta.
Mr. Chey Tae Won emphasized that, considering Vietnam as a priority partner in the investment strategy in the coming time, SK Group is planning to cooperate in investment and development in Vietnam in the above-mentioned fields. At the same time, he expressed his hope that, after the meeting with General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Minister Nguyen Chi Dung, SK's projects will be quickly realized and reap many achievements.
SK is one of the largest corporations in Korea. Currently, the Group is focusing on green energy projects, green transformation, and sustainable development. In the coming time, SK will send experts to survey and grasp the actual situation in localities where projects are being implemented and hopes to receive support from relevant agencies in Vietnam, especially the Ministry of Planning and Investment. At the same time, it affirms that it will try its best to successfully implement the projects, contributing to further promoting the Vietnam - Korea cooperation relationship./.
