Appointing Mr. Pham Anh Tuan as Deputy General Director of Vietnam Post Corporation

On July 10, 2024, in Hanoi , Vietnam Post Corporation held a conference to deploy personnel work, announcing the Decision to receive and appoint Mr. Pham Anh Tuan to the position of Deputy General Director of the Corporation.

Attending the ceremony were comrade Pham Duc Long - Member of the Party Executive Committee, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, comrade La Hoang Trung - Director of the Postal Department, comrade Nguyen Ngoc Hai - Deputy Director of the Planning and Finance Department, comrade Vu Thi La - Deputy Director of the Personnel Department of the Ministry of Information and Communications, comrade Duong Thanh Long - Deputy General Director of Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group and representatives of the Human Resources Department, Product Strategy Department of VNPT Group.

On the side of Vietnam Post Corporation, the Conference was attended by Comrade Nguyen Truong Giang - Head of the Board of Members of the Corporation, Comrade Chu Quang Hao - General Director and comrades Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Member of the Board of Members, Deputy General Director, Chairman, Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of the Corporation, representatives of the leaders of the Party Committees, Professional Committees, Committees of the Trade Union of the Corporation, Chairmen, General Directors, Directors of the Provincial, City, Central Post Offices, member units of the Corporation directly in Hanoi and on television bridges nationwide.

Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Pham Duc Long and Head of the Board of Members of Vietnam Post Corporation Nguyen Truong Giang presented flowers to congratulate and presented the Decision on receiving and appointing staff to Mr. Pham Anh Tuan.

According to Decision No. 98/QD-BĐVN-HĐTV issued by the Board of Members of the Corporation on July 10, 2024, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan was appointed as Deputy General Director of Vietnam Post Corporation. The term of appointment is 5 years.

Speaking at the Conference, Comrade Pham Duc Long - Deputy Minister of Information and Communications congratulated Vietnam Post Corporation on completing the leadership position of the Corporation; congratulated Comrade Pham Anh Tuan on being trusted and appointed to the position of Deputy General Director by the Party Executive Committee, leaders of the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Board of Members, the Board of Directors as well as the staff of Vietnam Post Corporation.

Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Pham Duc Long delivered a speech at the Conference.

“Today, the Post Office not only competes with postal delivery companies as before but also competes with technology companies in the delivery business. Under the leadership of the Minister and the Party Executive Committee, the Board of Members, and the Board of Directors of the Corporation have recognized this and promptly made changes. In the current competitive context, with the advantages of network and human resources, we need to take advantage of technology applications to promote those strengths, so that these two factors can combine to become competitive advantages and create a unique strength for Vietnam Post,” Deputy Minister Pham Duc Long commented, “Vietnam Post needs a technologically skilled army to build a solid technology foundation to develop services, create innovation and transformation. Today, we have a technology person joining Vietnam Post, who will be in charge of technology. I believe that, with his rich experience in technology, business and product strategy, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan can make great contributions to the Corporation. company, leading the "technology guard" team to contribute to Vietnam Post to complete its mission, in two ways: One is to utilize the existing strengths of Vietnam Post combined with technology; Two is to create a new space to provide technology for manufacturing and business enterprises in the field of delivery".

Speaking at the assignment of tasks to the new Deputy General Director, Nguyen Truong Giang, Head of the Board of Members, said that the completion of the position of Deputy General Director in charge of technology for comrade Pham Anh Tuan is a complete piece of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Post Corporation, helping the Board of Directors have more necessary resources to solve problems in implementing production and business tasks across the entire network. “Digital transformation of the Post Office is different from that of a technology enterprise working in the postal sector, it must inherit the values of the Postal industry and take advantage of advanced technology to create development. The Board of Directors of the Corporation is committed to creating a space for Mr. Tuan to promote his capacity and contribute his efforts to the development of Vietnam Post. I believe that, with the recent strengthening of the Corporation's information technology workforce and the joining of Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, this elite team will help Vietnam Post break through to soon conquer the goal of becoming a technology Postal enterprise”.

Deputy General Director Pham Anh Tuan pledged to wholeheartedly devote himself to the development of Vietnam Post.

In his acceptance speech, the new Deputy General Director Pham Anh Tuan thanked the Board of Directors and all officers, employees and workers of Vietnam Post Corporation for entrusting him with the task, and pledged to continue to be dedicated and devoted to the development of Vietnam Post in the future. “In the upcoming action program, I set out 3 key points in line with the direction of Deputy Minister Pham Duc Long and the expectations of the Board of Directors of the Corporation. First, we must re-plan the entire current technology infrastructure system and upgrade the Corporation's system. Second, upgrade the professional information technology team, meeting the expectations of not only the Corporation's leaders but also the entire system. Third, seek new development spaces, going further, we will provide services not only for the internal unit but also for external customers. In the Corporation's 2030 strategy, Vietnam Post aims to become a technology postal enterprise, I believe that we will definitely be a technology enterprise providing digital solutions and services in the fields of post, logistics and e-commerce", Mr. Pham Anh Tuan affirmed.

Mr. Pham Anh Tuan was born in 1975, has a Master's degree in Electronics and Telecommunications. He joined the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) in May 1998 and has held many positions at the Interprovincial Telecommunications Company, the Telecommunication Services Company (VinaPhone) and other member units of the VNPT Group. Before taking on the position of Deputy General Director of Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Corporation, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan held the position of Deputy General Director of the Telecommunication Services Corporation (VinaPhone), Head of Product Strategy Department, VNPT Group.
