Ministry of Planning and Investment continues to rank first in digital transformation rankings

(MPI) - According to the Digital Transformation Assessment Index Report of ministries, ministerial-level agencies, government agencies and centrally-run provinces and cities - DTI at ministerial and provincial levels in 2023, recently announced by the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of Planning and Investment continues to rank first from 2022, in which 5/6 main indexes ranked first, including: Digital institutions, Digital infrastructure, Digital human resources, Network information security and Digital transformation activities.

DTI 2023 of ministries providing public services: ministries, ministerial-level agencies, and government agencies providing public services include 17 agencies: Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Education and Training, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, State Bank of Vietnam, and Vietnam Social Security.

The top 5 ministries and sectors in DTI 2023 include: Ministry of Planning and Investment; Ministry of Finance; State Bank of Vietnam; Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment; Ministry of Information and Communications. The Ministry of Planning and Investment continues to rank first from 2022, in which 5/6 main indicators ranked first including: Digital Institutions, Digital Infrastructure, Digital Human Resources, Cyber ​​Security and Digital Transformation Activities. The Ministry of Justice has the highest growth in value (up 49.4%) and ranking (up 6 places) of digital transformation in 2023 among ministries with public services.

The average DTI value of public service providers in 2023 is 0.6355, an increase of 13.9% compared to 2022 (0.5578). Of which, 17/17 ministries and sectors (accounting for 100%) have a DTI value of 2023 above the average of 0.5 (in 2022, there were 12/17 ministries and sectors, accounting for 70.6%; in 2021, there were 6/17 ministries and sectors, accounting for 35.3%).

Digital transformation is an objective necessity, a strategic choice and a top priority for countries to develop rapidly and sustainably in the digital age. In recent times, the Party and the State have had many policies and guidelines on national digital transformation and have achieved many positive results. 2020 is considered the year to launch awareness of digital transformation in Vietnam; 2023 is a pivotal year in the 5-year implementation period, a year of important significance, creating fundamental and key factors to achieve digital transformation goals by 2025.

In 2023, the national digital transformation has the theme "Creating and exploiting digital data to create value". Implementing the 2023 Action Plan of the National Committee on Transformation, ministries, branches and localities strive to achieve the goal of "promoting digital transformation towards bringing about substantial and sustainable results, prioritizing resources to achieve important targets in the National Programs and Strategies on developing digital government, digital economy and digital society" and have achieved important results; many pilots have been successful, creating the premise for widespread popularization./.
