After reviewing, according to data up to 10:00 a.m. on September 11, the terrible flash flood that occurred in Lang Nu village, Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province, had 22 deaths; 17 injured (05 people transferred to Lao Cai General Hospital for treatment, 01 person transferred to Viet - Duc Hospital for treatment); 73 people have not been found; 46 people are safe.
Lao Cai Provincial Party Secretary Dang Xuan Phong, Provincial People's Committee Chairman Trinh Xuan Truong and representatives of several functional agencies of Lao Cai province directly directed the disaster relief and search and rescue work. Division 316 of Military Region 2 sent 200 people to participate in the search and rescue work.
Currently, 80 mobile police officers of Mobile Battalion No. 4 in Lao Cai and 200 students from Lao Cai College are going to the district to help people overcome natural disasters in the town.
The work of overcoming the consequences of flash floods in Lang Nu village is facing many obstacles, especially the roads leading to the scene have been severely damaged by the rain and floods. Authorities had to work all night to urgently search and rescue victims, while also making efforts to clear roads and open rescue routes from Lao Cai city to the center of Bao Yen district, and from the center of this district to the landslide area to facilitate vehicles and forces to access and provide support.
