According to the Commander of the Than Vu tunnel construction, the tunnel is designed with 2 parallel pipes. The left tunnel is located next to a stream, with a lot of underground water. During the construction process, a large area had to be dug, with some points expanding to more than 100 m2.
In early September, the inside of the tunnel collapsed, hundreds of cubic meters of rock and soil poured down. Throughout the entire construction process, similar incidents occurred many times, causing costs to increase, sometimes taking more than a month to handle.
Every time there was a landslide, engineers and workers used machines to spray concrete to seal the entire landslide area, then closed the pipe, pumped in cement to solidify the entire loose mass into an artificial rock block, and then continued digging.
