In the northern provinces and cities today, Bac Giang is still the epicenter of widespread power outages, as the locality applies a plan to reduce power supply to residential areas to prioritize production enterprises.
Power outage disrupts daily life of people in Hanoi suburbs
According to information from Bac Giang Electricity Company, today, hundreds of areas in the province continue to have power outages. In addition to repairing and maintaining power lines and transformer stations, the main reason for power outages is due to a lack of electricity.
In Hai Phong, today, many residential areas in An Duong, Thuy Nguyen, Kien An and Hong Bang districts will still have power outages. In particular, some areas in Kien An district will have power outages lasting from 6am to 5pm.
The reason for the power outage was announced by Hai Phong Electricity Company as being due to extremely hot weather and high load, to ensure the security of the power system, the power supply will have to be stopped.
Ministry of Industry and Trade inspects EVN Electricity Group on electricity management and supply
According to information from the National Power System Control Center, starting today, the power capacity of the Northern region will be somewhat improved, putting back into operation a total of about 1,000 MW.
Specifically, some thermal power plants with problems (Quang Ninh, Nghi Son 1, Thai Binh 2) have been handled and repaired to resume operation. In addition, the mountainous and midland areas of the North have had light rain, so some small hydroelectric reservoirs have had more water to improve power generation.
Meanwhile, another noteworthy information related to the issue of electricity supply is that, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, starting today, the specialized inspection team of the Ministry of Industry and Trade will inspect EVN on the implementation of legal regulations on electricity management and supply. The Ministry of Industry and Trade also decided that the inspection must be completed within 30 days, with members working on holidays.
According to Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, the cause of the power shortage in recent days, regardless of the reason, needs to be clarified to find a solution in the near future.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Dien requested the inspection team to clarify the supply and proactive provision of fuel for power plants; operation of the power system; mobilization of power sources (technically), fairness; power transmission issues; and implementation of mobilization of transitional renewable energy sources.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Dien assigned Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan to directly direct this inspection.
11 hydroelectric reservoirs have run out of water and must stop generating electricity.
