Speaking at the announcement meeting, Editor-in-Chief of Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper Tang Huu Phong acknowledged that green growth and circular economic development are becoming global trends to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, towards the goal of carbon neutrality and sustainable development.
On the other hand, the trend of green and sustainable development has been forming new “rules of the game” in trade and investment. Important import markets have implemented high tax rates on products with large “carbon footprints”; many developed economies in the world have set stricter environmental regulations on imported goods.

According to journalist Tang Huu Phong, developing a green economy not only helps businesses overcome current difficulties, but also lays the foundation for sustainable development in the future. However, to be able to do this is not easy. Each business itself is under great pressure in terms of finance, engineering, technology, market, etc. Therefore, in order to contribute to sharing the pressures that businesses are facing, Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper and Ho Chi Minh City Business Association (HUBA) organized the program to select the title "Green Business".
The core purpose of this program is to honor, reward, and encourage businesses to comply with regulations on waste treatment arising in the production and business process; to conduct research and produce environmentally friendly products. At the same time, it enhances the responsibility of businesses in protecting the environment, aiming for sustainable growth. Along with that, it supports businesses to promote, improve competitiveness, and integrate into the international economy.
