Ba Be National Park, a subtropical oasis of biodiversity, offers a journey of discovery for eco-conscious travelers or those seeking a deeper connection with nature. A complex of rivers, lakes and lowland evergreen forests, Ba Be Lake reveals a natural masterpiece containing a cultural heritage seemingly untouched by time.

Ba Be Lake sparkles like a gem amidst the lush green landscape, offering a peaceful sanctuary where visitors can immerse themselves in the tranquility of nature. This is one of the largest and highest natural freshwater lakes in Vietnam, located at an altitude of about 178m above sea level, with a length of up to 8km and a width of 500m.

The park stretches over 23,000 hectares of stunning waterfalls, deep rivers, valleys, lakes and caves, all set among towering peaks. In 2011, the park was recognized as a wetland of international importance, ranking 3rd in Vietnam and 1938th in the world.

The national park is also home to a remarkable array of flora and fauna, many of which are rare and endangered. From Francois’ langurs to vibrant orchids, the park showcases an incredible biodiversity that must be carefully preserved. It is also home to the Tay people, one of the largest ethnic minority groups in northern Vietnam, offering another meaningful experience.

Located in Thanh Hoa province, just 150km from Hanoi, Pu Luong is blessed with an abundance of natural resources, making it one of the country’s most beautiful places to visit. The area is notable for its four hamlets and villages, home to the Black and White Thai ethnic groups. Life in Pu Luong is slow and leisurely, a stark contrast to the urban areas of Vietnam that most tourists flock to.

The nature reserve is most proud of its stunning rice terraces on the mountainside. Visitors can observe the lives of farmers on the terraced fields. This place, like Sapa, has landscapes that are similar to those seen on Vietnamese postcards or even more beautiful.

Pu Luong is also home to the famous Thac Hieu waterfall, consisting of two streams that meet and form a large lake. This is an ideal destination to relax after a short walk through the rice fields.

Cai Be, a charming town on the Mekong River, is famous for its vibrant floating market. The town offers a glimpse into the gentle pace of life along the waterways, where tradition and commerce are on full display.

Dozens of boats laden with fresh produce, colorful flowers, and local crafts are the heart of this bustling little town. Trading activities begin as soon as the morning sun hits the river. The lively chatter of traders and the aroma of fruit are sure to be a great way to start the day.
