Bac Lieu meets to celebrate Cinema Tradition Day

(NADS) - On March 14, the Union of Literature and Arts Associations of Bac Lieu province held a meeting to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of Vietnam Cinema and Photography Traditional Day (March 15, 1953 - March 15, 2025).

72 years ago in Ban Bac village, Diem Mac commune, Dinh Hoa district, Thai Nguyen province, President Ho Chi Minh signed Decree No. 147/SL to establish the Vietnam National Cinema and Photography Enterprise, officially giving birth to the Vietnam Revolutionary Cinema and Photography Industry. Since then, March 15th of each year has been taken as Vietnam Cinema and Photography Day. Over the past 70 years, under the leadership of the Party and Uncle Ho, the Cinema and Photography industry has accompanied the history of the nation, made great strides and contributed greatly to the cause of national liberation and the construction of the homeland and country.

Meritorious Artist Do Ngoc An - President of Bac Lieu Literature and Arts Association, authorized by Vietnam Association of Photographers, awarded the Commemorative Medal and national excellent award winning photos to photography association members.

In Bac Lieu, since its establishment, Photography and Cinema has developed more than 100 members of Photography and Cinema of Bac Lieu province, becoming a shock force on the cultural front. Over the years, members of these two majors have invested in creating and improving the quality of their works, winning many medals and awards at provincial, regional, national and international competitions, contributing significantly to the overall achievements of the province's literature and arts.

Speaking at the meeting, Meritorious Artist Do Ngoc An - Chairman of Bac Lieu Literature and Arts Association acknowledged the great contributions of Photography and Cinematography artists through the ages. He said that the mission placed on the shoulders of artists is heavy but very glorious, not only creating valuable works to serve the spiritual life of the public but also serving the development of the locality and the country. The Chairman of the Association encouraged the spirit of artists to continue to uphold their responsibility, keep the flame of enthusiasm and passion to create many valuable works, rich in identity, reflecting the breath of life, contributing to promoting the land and people of Bac Lieu to domestic and international friends.

Meritorious Artist Do Ngoc An - Chairman of Bac Lieu Literature and Arts Association, authorized by the Provincial People's Committee Chairman, presented Certificates of Merit to individuals with high achievements in the field of literature and arts in the last 6 months of 2024.

Comrade Ngo Ngoc Mai - Vice President of Bac Lieu Culture and Arts, authorized by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, awarded certificates of merit to 1 collective and 07 individuals with achievements in creative activities in 2024.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists awarded the Medal "For the cause of developing Vietnamese photography art" to Artist Tran Thanh Toan, Artist Duong Van Nhi and the 2024 National Outstanding Photography Award to Artist Phan Thanh Cuong.

The Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists awarded certificates of merit to 1 collective and 07 individuals with achievements in creative activities in 2024; The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to individuals with high achievements in the field of literature and arts in the last 6 months of 2024.
