Apple Pay is an e-wallet application developed by Apple to serve iOS ecosystem users. Apple Pay allows creating a digital version of a physical card right on the application. Users can use this e-wallet as an online payment tool or as a virtual wallet to hold electronic tickets.
Once the card is integrated into Apple Pay, users simply double-click the side button or Home button, authenticate with Face ID or Touch ID, and hold the top of their iPhone or Apple Watch screen near the contactless card reader to pay.
Apple Pay was launched in 2014 and has gradually become popular in many places around the world, but this is the first time Vietnamese users have experienced it. That is also the reason why many domestic iPhone users are waiting for the official appearance of this service.
According to information from technology giant Apple, users of payment cards of Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ACB), Sacombank, Techcombank, Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB), Vietcombank and VPBank will be able to use Apple Pay from August 8.
Early morning on August 8, many Apple users in Vietnam confirmed that they can integrate bank cards into Apple Pay as well as use this e-wallet to make payments.
