According to GSMArena , Apple is facing controversy over its rejection of PC emulator applications on the iOS platform, despite previously allowing classic game console emulators to come to the App Store. This decision was made after two popular iDOS 3 and UTM SE emulator applications were rejected by Apple, the reason being that they did not meet the criteria of a classic game console emulator.
PC emulators are unlikely to work on iOS
MAKEUSEOF SCREENSHOT
According to Apple's announcement, iDOS 3 was rejected because it 'provides emulation functionality but does not specifically emulate a classic game console', while UTM SE was rejected because 'a PC is not a game console'. This has left developers and users questioning Apple's definition of a 'classic game console'.
Apple even prevented UTM SE from being listed on third-party app stores in the European Union (EU), citing violations of the principle that apps must be independent and cannot execute code that changes the functionality of other apps.
Apple’s decision has sparked much debate among users. Some believe that Apple is protecting its own interests by limiting competition from PC emulators. Others believe that Apple is protecting users from emulators that may contain malware or violate copyrights.
Apple's decision has made it clear that iOS users will not be able to use PC emulators on their devices, at least for the time being.
