An Khanh Communal House is one of the oldest and most beautiful communal houses in Ho Chi Minh City. After many years of relocation to build the new urban area of Thu Thiem, the communal house has now been restored on its old land.
According to historical documents, An Khanh communal house is one of the three main communal houses in Thu Thiem, built in the late 17th and early 18th centuries, and is one of the oldest communal houses in ancient Saigon - Gia Dinh.
Currently, An Khanh communal house still preserves the royal decrees of the Nguyen Dynasty, especially the royal decree under King Tu Duc, in 1832, with the content: "Binh Duong district, Gia Dinh province, Tan Binh prefecture, Binh Tri canton, An Loi commune, Tran Thong Quan Ha Quang Thong su, Danh loc Tri Thuy Bo chi Than, tuoc sac Than hoang ban canh". An Khanh communal house had to be relocated for a period of time to build Thu Thiem urban area and Thu Duc new city. After a long period of restoration and construction, on April 18, An Khanh communal house was reopened, attracting the attention of people as well as those who love the traditional culture of the nation.

Compared to the old communal house, the newly restored An Khanh communal house is more spacious and still retains all the antiques passed down through many generations. The location of the communal house is also in a prime location, near Thu Thiem Theater and on the riverside boulevard of Thu Duc city. Some residents of the new urban area of Thu Thiem said: When the new urban area was built, most of the historical, cultural and spiritual architectural works were relocated elsewhere. The restoration of An Khanh communal house demonstrates the tradition of "remembering the source of water when drinking" towards national culture as well as the religious and spiritual needs of people in modern life.
