41 wards in Ho Chi Minh City have water cut off

The water supply industry is maintaining the pumping station's electrical system and repairing water supply valves, affecting tens of thousands of households this weekend.

From 10pm on December 2 to 3am on December 3, wards 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14, 25, 26, 27, 28 of Binh Thanh district and wards 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 17 of Go Vap district will have water cut off or weak water.

Similarly, Phu Dong and Thanh Loc wards of District 12; 11 wards of Tan Binh District, except wards 1, 13, 14, 15 and Tan Son Nhat Airport will be affected. Thu Duc City has wards of Binh Chieu, Binh Tho, Hiep Binh Chanh, Hiep Binh Phuoc, Linh Chieu, Linh Dong, Linh Tay, Tam Binh, Tam Phu also had water supply interruption during the above period.

According to Saigon Water Corporation (Sawaco), when the water supply system resumes, some areas far from the source may recover more slowly than expected. Subsidiary units will regulate the water supply network to minimize affected areas. At the same time, joint stock companies will increase water supply activities by tanker trucks to key locations.

Thu Duc Water Plant was built in 1966 in Linh Trung Ward, Thu Duc City with a capacity of 450,000 m3 per day and night. Up to now, the plant has increased its capacity to 850,000 m3 per day and night. This is the source of clean water for millions of people in Ho Chi Minh City for over 50 years.
